Faculty and Staff Testimonials

SJC is a special place for me. It’s where I was the first in my family to earn undergraduate and graduate degrees. It’s where I learned how to succeed academically and was able to develop a true sense of self. I am proud to have been able to attend St. Joseph’s College because of the scholarships I earned when I was a student here. Being able to support current students and assist with specific needs through funds such as the Neil Lamens Fund and the Student Emergency Fund is important to me and allows for the legacy of SJC to continue. I am truly happy to be a part of that.

Kathleen Magistro

Director of Undergraduate Admissions

There is genuine love for our students from our faculty and staff. I have seen staff members in many different offices patiently, professionally and kindly serve the students. I’ve seen faculty and staff encourage students in informal conversations, supporting them at athletic events and performances. Our financial support is just as important. There are many foundations that are willing to give money to college and universities based upon the percentage of support shown by faculty and staff. The monetary amount doesn’t matter. The percentage of employees who donate is what is important for these foundations. I’ve seen 100% support in our interactions with the students. It would be wonderful to see 100% support financially from us as well. That’s why I give.

SJC is a College that provides uniquely personal experiences for students. Through our contributions, we preserve, foster and further enable the these uniquely personal experiences — be they scholarships, trips abroad, assistance in times of need or other student activities. My giving is intended to help those less fortunate who might otherwise not have the experiences that a college education can offer. My goal is to be able to help relieve the stress of providing a college education and related expenses from the minds of our students or their parents, so that they can focus on the valuable experiences and education that SJC affords.

Student Testimonials

“I am so grateful that St. Joseph’s financial assistance has helped me succeed by allowing me the time to become involved in extracurricular activities, such as the Child Study Club, and readily preparing me to become an exceptional elementary school teacher.”

“I am thankful that supporters of St. Joseph’s have allowed me the opportunity to become an active participant in Student Life. Being the president of the Drama Society and in the Senate of the Student Government Association is giving me the leadership skills needed to succeed after graduation.”
