Break out the plaid pants, St. Joseph’s College annual Golf Classic is almost here! Featuring 18 holes at the beautiful Plandome Country Club, the Classic will be held on Monday, June 3, with all proceeds benefitting SJC’s athletic programs.

We’re also proud to announce this year’s honoree: Martin Racanelli Jr., vice president and partner of Racanelli Construction Co. Inc.

Born on Long Island and raised in East Islip, Marty Racanelli Jr. was blessed with a strong Catholic upbringing provided by his loving parents, Marty Sr. and Rochelle. His solid Catholic education included St. Mary’s Elementary, St. John the Baptist and Boston College, where he excelled both academically and athletically. Most notably he ranked number one in singles tennis for the four years he attended SJB as well as playing rugby for Boston College. He is an avid golfer and most recently completed three Ironman Triathlons in Lake Placid, N.Y.

Since graduating from Boston College with honors and a degree in finance in 1991, Marty has been presented with many opportunities for a career on Wall Street and other financial markets. He is proud to say that his decision to share his talents with his family’s construction company was a perfect one. Working for the past 22 years alongside his father, three brothers and sister, has been invaluable. The Racanelli credos of “family first” and “ treat others as you would like to be treated” have helped Racanelli Construction set the bar as a company “whose reputation continues to build.”
