The Class of 1967’s 50th Anniversary

Class of 1967

Support, Join, Celebrate

Dear Classmates,

When is a building bigger than its “Footprints?” The answer is when that building represents St. Joseph’s College – a special and grand place for the Class of 1967. Since Commencement Day (June 7, 1967) we’ve all had life experiences shaped by St. Joe’s. Our goals, aspirations and worldview were formed within her walls and her impact radiated out beyond her walls to all we have touched, influenced and affirmed on each of our 50 yearlong journeys. Let’s celebrate our alma mater and our class together…. and let’s do it in a BIG way!!

THE REUNION WEEKEND (April 27-30, 2017)
St. Joseph’s College will honor our Golden Anniversary during this weekend. The College will be mailing formal invitations with reservation cards in early March. As “Golden Girls,” our luncheon is complimentary ($95 per guest). Please reserve with the Office of Alumni Engagement for every event you plan to attend except for the post-luncheon get-together, which is our class’ private party.

This ’67-only event will be held at the University Club immediately following the luncheon. The cost to attend is $40 per person. The price includes hors d’oeuvres and drinks. Margaret Courtney Gargiulo (516.488.5548 • is coordinating this event and collecting money. Please make checks payable to Margaret Gargiulo, include your phone number and email address on the check, and mail to 45 Magnolia Ave., Floral Park, NY, 11001.

Traditionally, the anniversary class presents a gift to the College. We are excited to announce that one of our classmates has generously pledged a match-challenge gift of $25,000 to create an endowed scholarship! This means that for every dollar you give, our classmate will match up to $25,000 for a total impact of $50,000. Not only is it up to us to match the first $25,000, but also to reach a goal of at least $100,000 with 100 percent participation of our class members. The Class of 1966, with whom we always had a friendly rivalry, raised $130,000 last year – let’s top that! The Class of 1967 Scholarship will fund two scholarships annually. The first awarded to a high-achieving female Brooklyn campus junior who is in need of financial assistance. The second scholarship will be awarded to a female student from The Brooklyn campus who is pursuing a career in social justice. This allows the Class of 1967 to make a significant direct impact on two students each year.

There will be a drawing at our luncheon for scholarship donors of $1,000 or more for a week at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. A second drawing for donors of $500 or more will be The Pentagon Package: a private tour of the Pentagon, including the 9/11 Memorial, and a trip to the Hillwood Estate/Museum/Gardens and the Phillips Collection.

We look forward to sharing these special reunion events with you. It’s our turn to be the “Golden Girls!” Which brings us back to the “Footprints” of our journey … they have led us to this moment of celebration of our Golden Anniversary and to the imprints we want to leave on the future of St. Joseph’s College in its next 100 years of opportunity and excellence.

Let’s invest in our alma mater and her ongoing mission of transforming lives and let’s CELEBRATE the exceptional Class of 1967!
Esse Non Videri!
